Days of Teaching in Terraced Fields Classroom | Dual Growth of Rural Practice
Our school organizes a summer volunteer teaching program, aiming to provide international high school students with a practical platform to engage in rural China, fulfill their social responsibilities, and cultivate global citizenship. The program's core mission is to transcend classroom learning, guiding students through volunteer service and project-based learning (PBL) in authentic social and cultural settings to understand the diverse facets of China's social development, particularly key issues such as rural revitalization, educational equity, and cultural heritage. We strive to foster a spirit of equal dialogue and pragmatic service, rejecting a "giver" mentality and emphasizing mutual learning and shared growth with the local community. Participating in summer volunteer teaching is a valuable experience for students' all-round growth, deepening their cognition and abilities, broadening their global perspectives and sense of responsibility, strengthening their character and values, and enhancing their overall competitiveness. Guangxi Bijie, Guizhou Linchang Primary School, Xiangxi Xiayankan Primary School, Xiangxi Paimen Primary School, and Daocheng Yading are all places where Guangjian Meigao students have left their mark.
Through summer teaching, our students not only bring vitality and new knowledge to rural areas, but also draw strength from their service, growing from "international students" to active global citizens with a heart for their homeland and a global perspective.
