Be the best of yourself

After a month of thoughtful preparation throughout September, Guanghua Academy proudly announces the establishment of its 2025–26 Student Council. From open nominations to a democratic election, every step reflected the students’ voice and trust. Following the election, the newly elected President conducted interviews to appoint department heads, and together they completed the recruitment of team members.

Message from Student Council President, Xiping Zhou:
“There’s a quote I love—‘Something for Nothing.’ To me, it captures a simple but powerful idea: doing things not for reward, but out of genuine care and commitment. I believe the Student Council should serve in this same spirit—bridging students and the school, building understanding, and creating opportunities for everyone to feel heard and connected.

When we plan activities, we’ll make sure they align with both students’ interests and the school’s goals. Through updates, surveys, and open communication, we hope to help students understand school initiatives while allowing the school to hear students’ true voices.

We want every student to feel at home on campus—to find both relaxation and motivation here. That’s what leadership means to us: service rooted in empathy and action.”

After the election, Principal Wang shared a few heartfelt words that still resonate deeply with the team:
“Each of you witnessed the President being elected vote by vote. Every single ballot represents trust—and a shared hope for the future.”

She encouraged the Council to serve with sincerity and courage, to act on ideas that combine wisdom and creativity, and to bring new energy to school life.

That trust and encouragement have since taken root in the hearts of every council member. As we look ahead, we see ourselves carrying the torch passed down by those before us—continuing the spirit of dedication, innovation, and community that defines Guanghua Academy. Together, we’ll turn that shared trust and hope into action, day by day, throughout the year ahead.
